Inspired by the aesthetic of Higo Zogan—an art form originally developed to adorn sword guards—this piece reinterprets that spirit in a contemporary glass.At the base, a tsuba motif created by master craftsmen is delicately set, embodying a quiet yet powerful beauty.

【刀鐔模様/九曜桜】
江戸時代、細川家に仕えた“肥後金工の祖”として知られる林又七によって作られた「桜九曜紋透鐔」をもとにした図案です。細川家の家紋である九曜紋と桜を交合に組み合わせた意匠は、格式高い鐔として尊重されました。また、九曜紋と桜紋は陰陽を表し、繊細な唐草模様には金象嵌が施されています。原作は現在、永青文庫に所蔵される重要美術品です。
【Katana Tsuba Motif / Nine-Star Sakura】
This design is inspired by the Sakura Kuyo Mon Sukashi Tsuba, created by Hayashi Matashichi, known as the founder of Higo metalwork who served the Hosokawa clan during the Edo period.
The motif combines the Hosokawa family crest, the Nine-Star emblem, with cherry blossoms in an elegant interlocking composition. Representing the harmony of yin and yang, the design also features delicate arabesque patterns accented with gold inlay.
The original work is designated as an Important Art Object and is housed in the Eisei Bunko Museum.

【取り扱いについて】

・高台部分には釉薬が施してありませんので、使用の際はコースターなど敷物をご使用ください。
・気泡や微細な傷は製造上生じるもので、品質に問題はありません。

・When cleaning, avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scrubbers and use a soft sponge gently.

・The foot is unglazed; please use a coaster or other protective surface when in use.
・Small air bubbles or minor marks may occur during production and do not affect the quality of the product.
